5G Networks is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Michael Wilton as General Counsel and Joint Company Secretary.
Michael has a wealth of domestic and international experience, spanning across mergers and acquisitions and equity capital market strategies, most recently as a partner at Cornwalls and Norton Rose Fulbright prior to that. His expertise includes public company takeovers, private treaty sales and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate reconstructions. His ECM experience includes a number of IPOs and many secondary capital raisings for ASX listed companies.
In the IT and Telecommunications sector, Michael has worked with the Commonwealth Government on a number of major transactions including the Telstra privatisation and the State of Victoria where he was engaged in a number of large government IT and Telecommunications projects. As 5GN continues to execute on its growth strategy via acquisition the demand for legal services and general counsel has accelerated.
5G Networks Managing Director, Joe Demase stated, “We have worked closely with Michael and the team at Cornwalls during the 5GN IPO, which was completed in 2017 and then every acquisition since. He is a very talented lawyer who understands the commercial drivers of ASX listed companies and can translate this knowledge into the corporate environment. His role will be to head our M&A activity, assist with company secretarial duties and act as general counsel. As our expansion continues both in financial terms and geographically, it makes sense to bring this expertise in-house. Importantly, we will continue our long-standing relationship with Cornwalls for other legal requirements.”
