Hugh Robertson Jr

Hugh Robertson Jr
Chairperson

Hugh Robertson is a Director of Corporate Advisory at Morgans Financial Limited, where he works with clients across various industries, including financial services, technology, and agriculture. With expertise in business development, strategic planning, and corporate finance, he has a robust track record in capital raising and advising on financial management.

Hugh has served in leadership roles at Bell Potter Securities, Health and Plant Protein Group Limited, and other companies, contributing significantly to equity capital markets and corporate finance across Australia. In addition, he has extensive experience working with public companies, particularly in the areas of equity capital markets, corporate finance, and strategic advisory roles.

As a Director at Bell Potter Securities, he was involved in initial public offerings (IPOs), capital raisings, mergers, acquisitions, and divestments for public entities. His leadership in high-profile capital raises for companies such as AMA Group Ltd and Rubicon Water Ltd at Morgans Financial further highlights his proficiency in managing complex financial transactions for publicly listed organisations.

Joe Demase
Managing Director

Since 2017, Joe Demase has led the team at 5G Networks to secure its unique market position with groundbreaking and state-of-the-art technology. Equipped with the vision to identify business opportunities and the tenacity and skills to fulfil that potential, Joe is highly valued for his leadership acumen.

Joe has been shaping businesses around the world for more than 30 years, with over 20 years spent in the telco sector in Australia and the UK. He has built a host of successful companies, including the completion of two ASX listings in the telecommunications sector, Uecomm Ltd in 2000 and as Co-Founder of Access Providers Ltd in 2004. Previously, Joe was Managing Director at Webcental Ltd (formally Melbourne IT Group and Arq Group), where he was a driving force for over three years.

In 2025, Joe was appointed Chair of AUCyber, an Australian publicly listed provider of cyber security solutions, sovereign cloud infrastructure, managed IT services and consulting.

Natalie Mactier

Natalie Mactier is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the online and technology sectors, specialising in scaling businesses and digital transformation. As CEO of Vivi, she has led its expansion to 140,000+ classrooms across Australia, the US, and the UK, enhancing classroom engagement through innovative technology solutions.

Previously, Natalie played a key role in building SEEK and Kidspot before launching School Places with Square Peg Capital. Her expertise spans sales, marketing, and strategic growth in startups and scale-ups.

As a board member at 5G Networks (5GN), she leverages her tech and business expertise to drive strategic growth. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, she actively mentors young entrepreneurs, helping equip the next generation with the skills to succeed in tech.

Chris Scott

Chris Scott
Non-Executive Director

Chris Scott is a seasoned leader with over 25 years’ experience in elite performance, strategic leadership and cultural transformation. As the current Head Coach of the Geelong Football Club since 2011, Chris has led one of the most successful eras in AFL history, underpinned by a disciplined, values-driven approach to leadership and team development.

Prior to coaching, Chris enjoyed a distinguished playing career with the Brisbane Lions during their premiership era (1994–2007), later transitioning into an assistant coaching role at the Fremantle Football Club. He is widely recognised for his expertise in people management, leadership development and building high-performing teams in complex, competitive environments.

His corporate and academic credentials include executive education programs at Harvard University, Stanford University, New York University, Columbia University and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. As a Professor of Practice at Deakin University, Chris has collaborated with the data science team to apply data-driven innovation in sports science.

Chris also holds a leadership role at Morris Finance, where he provides strategic insights to support business growth. Chris brings a powerful blend of governance awareness, leadership acumen and data-informed decision-making to the boardroom—qualities highly sought after by ASX-listed companies in need of results-focused independent directors.

Michael Wilton
General Counsel & Company Secretary

Michael Wilton is a capital markets and M&A lawyer, with more than 25 years’ experience in those sectors. He has substantial legal expertise in IT and telecommunications. In addition to his role at 5G Networks, Michael is a partner in the Melbourne office of Cornwalls Lawyers.

Chris Wright

Chief Technology Officer & Chief Information Security Officer

Chris Wright is a seasoned IT professional with a wealth of experience and expertise. With a career marked by achievements across diverse industries, Chris has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic acumen.

As the Chief Risk Officer, Asia Pacific, at Neustar, Inc., Chris was instrumental in the design and rollout of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework and implemented ISO27001 compliance across the organisation.

In 2016, Chris founded SecurityShift Group, a cyber security service provider, and served as the CEO until its acquisition by 5G Networks in 2024, when he assumed the strategic role of CTO and CISO at 5GN.

Chris Demase
Executive General Manager, Operations

Chris Demase has been with 5G Networks since its inception in 2017 and has held numerous roles, including National Program Manager, Executive General Manager of Operations and now Chief Operating Officer.

During his time, he has played a critical role in the transformation and integration of over ten business acquisitions, including the significant performance turnaround of the Webcentral business.

Chris’ areas of responsibility include Customer Support, Service Delivery, Customer Experience, Data Centres and Managed IT. Distinguished by a track record of over 15 years of proven experience in strategic business leadership, value optimisation and execution of customer experience business initiatives, he has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to drive operational excellence while keeping customers at the centre of everything we do.

Chris holds extensive experience in the telecommunication sector. Previously General Manager for Fibre Deployment at Skybridge Group Pty Ltd, Chris oversaw the Program works for the delivery of NBN fibre construction services to over 15,000 end-user premises and management of over 1100 field contractors.

Complementing Chris’ experience is a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Prince 2 Project Management.

Joel Bruce
Executive National Engineering Manager

Joel Bruce has over 20 years of experience in the ICT industry, with a recognised background in providing IT support and consulting services to Australia’s largest organisations.

A significant proportion of Joel’s extensive career was dedicated to managing large technical teams to ensure customers achieve successful business outcomes through the use of digital technology.

Luke McGregor
Chief Sales Officer

As Chief Sales Officer at 5G Networks, Luke leads a team of dedicated professionals who provide innovative, reliable, and scalable solutions for our customers across Australia and beyond. With over two decades of experience in the telecommunications industry, Luke has developed a deep expertise in dark fibre, IP transit, colocation, and wavelength services.
