5GN Acquires Ex Pipe Networks Brisbane Data Centre boosting infrastructure capacity to over 1,000 racks.
- 5GN has entered into a lease agreement for the ex Pipe Networks Data Centre in Fortitude Valley. The purchase price of $1.1m includes all operating infrastructure at the facility.
- The all cash acquisition will be funded from existing cash reserves, with a generous rent free period on a 10 year lease.
- Facility expected to be operational Jan 2021 with the inclusion of the latest Power redundancy equipment and Cooling systems.
- The Data centre has capacity to support 250 racks and access to 3 MW of power on dual power grid offering the highest level of redundancy.
- 5GN now operate data centres in each state on the East coast of Australia
- Initial customer offering will include the first 6 months of rack rental charges waived. We also have dark fibre to provide networking connectivity to the data centre.
5G Networks (ASX:5GN) is pleased to announce the acquisition its Brisbane CBD data centre (BDC).
This strategic investment will allow 5GN customers to connect directly to the data centre via 5GN dark fibre once the new rollout is complete. Cross selling of infrastructure aligns with Company’s focussed acquisition and growth strategy. The BDC houses over 250 data centre racks, expanding the 5GN Data Centre capacity to over 1,000 racks, all connected to a secure, national and international high-speed network.
The acquisition will also accelerate the continued execution of the 5GN wholesale channel strategy for infrastructure and data centre services. The geographical expansion will also include the extension of the 5GN Cloud solution, complemented by our Wavelength and Ethernet backbone networks products which connect over 80 Data centres Australia wide in addition to International capacity.
The BDC facility has been purpose built with 3MW of site power availability, cooling and power generators installed in addition to geo-diversity in network access to Australia’s leading service providers.
